    It’s been reported the Mets are hiring Justin Willard as their new pitching coach. I discuss my thoughts on that and what else the Mets need to do on the coaching side.


    Also, several option decisions were made including Pete Alonso, Edwin Diaz, Drew Smith, Brooks Raley, AJ Minter and Frankie Montas. I’ll get into those and what they mean and what implications they will have on the club in 2026.

    On this episode of the Metsomania Podcast I will discuss the Mets hiring of Troy Snitker as the team's hitting coach for 2026. I will give my thoughts on the hire and what else that means for the team moving forward.

    The New York Mets have hired two new coaches for the 2026 season. Kai Correa will be the team’s new bench coach while Jeff Albert will be the clubs’s Director of Major League Hitting.


    We give our thoughts on these hires and what we’d like to see the team do in their future hires for the coaching staff.


    In addition, the Mets signed their first player to a contact in 2026. Joe Jacques was signed to a minor league deal and we talk about that and what it means for the team.

  • Pete's Demands, Eric Chavez's Thoughts & Tarik Skubal Mock Trade

    From this past week, there have been some Mets news.

    Pete Alonso and his team are reportedly looking for a 7-year deal. I speak about whether the Mets are willing to go that far with Alonso and discuss a potential replacement for their first baseman.

    Also, Ex-Mets Hitting Coach Eric Chavez has been very vocal since being replaced as hitting coach and said a lot of interesting things about the Mets this year and some of the issues that kept the team from making the playoffs. I break down each thing he says and give my thoughts on it.

    Plus, Tarik Skubal to the Mets? That's what one Mets media personality thinks should happen. He gave a hypothetical trade for the Mets to acquire the dominating left hander. I break down the trade and discuss whether I would do that or if I have any hesitation regarding the trade.

    Finally, Sandy Alomar Sr passed on Monday at the age of 81. Alomar was a former coach of the Mets and I shared some good thoughts to his family and friends and my memories of him as a coach of the Mets.

    Only 2 Coaches, Outfield/1B Coach Antoan Richardson and Strategy/Information Coach Jeremy Barnes are returning.


    Assistant Pitching Coach Desi Druschel and Bullpen Coach Jose Rosado are free to seek other opportunities pending the hire of a new pitching coach.
