Jonah and Daniel were both believers, yet one ran from God while the other stood boldly before a king. Looking at Jonah, Daniel 3 and 10, and Psalm 119, we see how David models the way back from a wayward path: delighting in God’s word, welcoming His correction, and purposing in our hearts to walk humbly with Him. Wherever you are on the journey, His word is the lamp that brings us back on course.
Most of us know Jonah as a children’s Bible story, but this message shows a prophet who rejects God’s word, runs from God’s presence, and misunderstands God’s grace. Walk through Jonah 1 to 4 and see how running from God’s will puts the people around us at risk, and what it looks like to accept God’s word, stay close to God’s people, and rejoice when others receive mercy.
