In Genesis 29–30, Rachel’s story is one of beauty, rivalry, barrenness, and eventual grace. God hears her cry and opens her womb in His own time.
From a prison cell Joseph interprets the dreams of the cupbearer and baker. God’s providence is at work even when His servant is forgotten by men.
At seventeen, Joseph wasn’t yet ready for what God had planned for him, and Genesis 39 shows how the Lord prepared him through testing in Egypt. We see that true success means knowing and doing God’s will, and that a right view of God gave Joseph the strength to refuse Potiphar’s wife. It’s a call to seek His kingdom first and to look forward to hearing, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
The story of Judah and Tamar is an unexpected interruption that displays the dynamics of grace. God works through broken people and scandalous situations to advance His redemptive plan.
Joseph’s faith looked beyond the present and trusted God’s promises concerning the future. Hebrews 11 highlights the same faith that endures because it is fixed on the unseen and the eternal.
On Easter, we look at the evidence for the resurrection and then at three questions the cross puts before us in Mark 8: Who is Jesus? What must He do? And what must we do? The answers call every hearer to take up the cross and follow Him.
Joseph’s early life is marked by favoritism, prophetic dreams, and his brothers' deep hatred for him. Even in the midst of family dysfunction, God is already at work to preserve a remnant and fulfill His promises.
The life of Joseph provides a profile of the Christian life—faithfulness in the midst of betrayal, suffering, promotion, and the opportunity to forgive. God’s sovereignty is the golden thread that runs through every chapter.
The three witnesses—the Spirit, the water, and the blood—agree that Jesus is the Son of God. Eternal life is found only in the Son.
Love for God is demonstrated by keeping His commandments. Faith that overcomes the world is the faith that believes Jesus is the Son of God.
