Today we share with you a very important conversation about the effects of the situation in Cuba in our local political landscape. I am so proud to have for this episode Nadir Perez, the founder of Ven Vamos, a consulting firm. Nadir and his company exemplify the future of politics and we are so honored he shared his views with us today. In this episode we also address different political perspectives, the big divide in South Florida, the embargo and the overall situation for Cubans on and off the island.

Today we get to talk to Nicholas Griffin author of "The year of dangerous days." Racial turmoil, Cuban crisis and more make it seem we are talking about current events. However, Griffin's deep research and historical analysis showcase the cyclical nature of history, politics and human experience. If you are interested in understating the Cuban situation today you can start with his book.

Junot Díaz is a Pulitzer prize winning author and professor at MIT. He is a master of prose and takes us on a journey through the Latino immigrant experience. We can proudly name him one of today's best Latino authors in the world. We hope you enjoy this brief interview as much as we have.

To Junot: You are an inspiration to us all. Many immigrants do not have the means to expose their arduous experience of going to a new land and living between two cultures. We thank you for enduring your hardships, they empowered you in ways we might not even know yet. [ A Martian in the island might be just what we need... ]

This was a fun episode with David Winker, Esq. a business and real estate lawyer who has been involved in some of the most high profile cases in South Florida. David is an avid reader and a true Miami connoisseur. We talked about "Miami" by Joan Didion.
