what was that I heard a moment ago?
a word formed silently within your lips
something caused by my inner distraction
run for shelter at peals of distant thunder
we built this sea upon a desert
grew grasses where they said the fields were bare
you twist me apart in secret places
while petals fall in pieces to my feet
and as the days became colder
as the end drew near, a kiss alone uncertain
a sickness rising deep within our breath
September days sifting down through my fingers
we built this sea upon a desert
grew grasses where they said the fields were bare
you twist me apart [twist me] [falling, falling] [to my feet]
you twist me apart [twist me] [falling, falling] [to my feet]
you twist me apart [twist me] [falling, falling] [to my feet]
you twist me apart [twist me] [falling, falling] [to my feet]

This is a grand day: what I thought was a #long-#lost #recording has suddenly come into the light after nearly 30 years of it being #missing!
"Song for Christine" has been found!
I wrote, performed, and sang this song in #1988 at the tender age of 19, along with My incredibly talented and imaginative Friend, #bassist #Chuck #Donovan.
It was My very 1st pro-studio #recording after having written #music, #sang, and #recorded for a mere 3 years, and I find it fascinating, if not endearing, to hear the germinal essence of My present-day #sound, and the nascent budding of My #voice.
I was cleaning out My former recording #studio in #Decatur, #Georgia, after nearly 16 years of its existence, and found the #audio #cassette #mixdown in an old, wooden box with many of My #early #recordings from #1983.
The #song was written for a former girlfriend, #Christine #Trankiem, and I deeply appreciate Her for inspiring Me.
I transferred it to #digital on October 20, 2017.
I am ecstatic to #hear it again!
Let Me know what You think! The #lyrics are below.
