Interview with Mike Carter

On the 116th episode of the GreatBase Tennis podcast, Steve Smith has a conversation with Mike Carter.  Mike spent five years studying tennis with Steve back in the 1980's and has spent the last thirty years working for USTA:Texas. 

The third time is the charm applies to Mike Carter's journey in tennis. His dream job in tennis was living in his beloved Austin and working for the sectional tennis office; which used to be called the Texas Tennis Association. He applied twice before being selected. His secondary plans were truly remarkable; opportunities of a lifetime. He worked for both the late Dennis Van der Meer and the late Vic Braden. 

The episode with Steve and Mike is informative and inspiring. A couple of highlights: Mike's climb to winning national titles as a tri-athlete and Steve having Mike dig out a twenty year old speech.
