Michael is the Chair of the Law Society's Country Practitioners' Committee which represents, engages, supports and advocates for all members of the profession in rural, regional and remote areas.

Michael says it is essential that country practitioners reach out if they're feeling isolated or need assistance - the importance of good networks can't be over-emphasised, he says.

Integration within the community - be it via sport or volunteering - is also a must, to ensure relationship building with people who care.

Before studying law, Michael was a police officer. You'll never guess what he did before that...
