I’m so happy to be back with another entry for Vibes! I wish the best of luck to all the participants of this week.

Today I’m singing a song actually very, and I mean VERY personal. It is called “Mimos” and basically it’s about when a person wants you around, want you attention and even your love but they doesn’t want a committed relationship with you. Very painful, It’s not about friend zoning, which is painful too, it is worse! When someone wants you only por physical pleasure and that’s it. I’ve been there, you’ve been there, we all have been there (I hope I’m wrong and some of you guys hasn’t ). This is a song about all that “situationships” that never became a relationship, it is about a frustrated love.

Hive feels like a safe place to share this kind of personal things. I was I a situation exactly the same as the song describes. When I sing this song I think in a very specific person and a very specific name. Fortunately, it’s something from the past, I’m healed of that. If you’re in a situation like this one I only hace one advice: GET OUT IMMEDIATELY! I did and love was just around the corner, and so it’ll be for you! We need someone that doesn’t makes us feel undeserving of love and commitment.

¡Estoy muy feliz de volver con otra entrada para Vibes! Les deseo la mejor de las suertes a todos los participantes de esta semana.

Hoy estoy cantando una canción realmente muy, y quiero decir MUY personal. Se llama "Mimos" y básicamente se trata de cuando una persona te quiere cerca, quiere tu atención e incluso tu amor, pero no quiere una relación comprometida contigo. Muy doloroso, no se trata de “friendzonear”, que también es doloroso, ¡es peor! Cuando alguien te quiere solo por placer físico y ya. Yo he estado allí, tú has estado allí, todos hemos estado allí (espero estar equivocado y algunos de ustedes no). Esta es una canción sobre todas esos “casi algo” que nunca se convirtieron en una relación, se trata de un amor frustrado.

Hive parece un lugar seguro para compartir este tipo de cosas personales. Me encontraba en una situación exactamente igual a la que describe la canción. Cuando canto esta canción pienso en una persona muy específico y en un nombre muy concreto. Afortunadamente, es algo del pasado, ya estoy curada de eso. Si estás en una situación como esta, sólo te doy un consejo: ¡SAL INMEDIATAMENTE! Lo hice y el amor estaba a la vuelta de la esquina, ¡y así será para ti! Necesitamos a alguien que no nos haga sentir indignos de amor y compromiso.

This Is my entry for this week, I’m singing a classic: Torn, by Natalie Imbruglia. First of all, a want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to the Vibes crew because I made it to the top 10 last week. It was such a surprise and honor, I still can’t believe it! I send you the biggest hug.

### The song of my heartbreaks💔

Torn is a really special song for me, it has been good company in some past heartbreaks. I literally “laid naked on the floor” after a breakup listening to this song. That was a very epiphanic experience. I love how this song also talks about disappointment in a very beautiful way. A colleague showed me this song at one of my first jobs as a singer in an Orchestra of Symphonic Rock. I got that job knowing nothing about rock and ended up falling in love with it!

Torn is Natalie Imbruglia’s debut single and more successful song, it came out 27 years ago! In 1997. I wanted to let here this video from two years ago of her singing Torn with Olivia Rodrigo! I’m so glad the she invited her so the new generations get to know her work and how the music of young artists like Olivia is inspired by Natalie and other great women of rock. Also, she looks and sings amazingly after all this time!

¿Qué tal comunidad de Hive? 🌈

Esta es mi entrada para esta semana, estaré cantando un clásico: Torn, de Natalie Imbruglia. En primer lugar, quiero decir MUCHAS GRACIAS al equipo de Vibes porque llegué al top 10 la semana pasada. Fue una sorpresa y un honor tan grande, les mando un abrazo enorme.

### La canción de mis corazones rotos💔

Torn es una canción realmente especial para mí, ha sido una buena compañía en algunos despechos. Literalmente me “acosté desnudo en el suelo” después de una ruptura escuchando esta canción. Una na experiencia muy epifánica. Me encanta cómo esta canción también habla de la decepción de una manera muy hermosa. Un colega me la mostró en uno de mis primeros trabajos como cantante en una Orquesta de Rock Sinfónico. ¡Conseguí ese trabajo sin saber nada sobre rock y terminé enamorándome de él!

Torn es el sencillo debut de Natalie Imbruglia y su canción más exitosa, ¡salió hace 27 años! En 1997. Quería dejar aquí este vídeo de hace dos años de ella cantando Torn con Olivia Rodrigo. Me alegra mucho que la haya invitado para que las nuevas generaciones conozcan su trabajo y cómo la música de artistas jóvenes como Olivia se inspira en Natalie y otras grandes mujeres del rock. ### Hello Hive Community! Nice to meet you✨🌈

Today, I find myself totally THRILLED because for a very long time I wanted to do two things: to start a Hive blog (I have some friends in the community) and to participate in Vibes Music Competition, and guess what? Today I'm doing BOTH! I'm so happy and soooo nervous! I'm going to start introducing myself: my name is Michelle, I'm a singer currently living in Caracas, Venezuela. I want to thanks to the Vibes crew for creating opportunities and spaces for musicians of all levels and all around the world. My country is suffering a difficult and unfair situation and this kind of spaces represents and scape and a light for us who are living in a complicated environment.

### Disney week? A dream! 😍🎶

For those who don't know me (and that means: all of you, hahaha) I'm a Disney total FREAK. Musicals are everything to me, I inhale Disney and exhale Broadway😂 SO, when I heard that this week theme was Disney, I had to jump on it. I chose the song Into the unknown from the movie Frozen II because Elsa is one of my favorite characters: she's powerful, misunderstood and a little bit of a drama queen😅 and also, because of the situation I'm living in my country, I've been feeling connection to the meaning of the song, which is feeling that I'm not where I'm supposed to right now. I feel the urgent need to go out, see new places, maybe live somewhere else for a while and exploring "into the unknown".

This song is BIG, I'll be singing it in my beloved native language, spanish, and maybe you will noticing that I'll be giving Elsa my own "spice", gestures and energy. This song is interpreted originally by Idina Menzel, one of my models and most admired singer and actress. Idina is an inspiration for me, she embraces the characters in a very powerful way, the vocal technique takes a backseat, all of the interpretation is about the feeling. The latino version is interpreted by Carmen Sarahí which is a amazing singer and voiceover actress from Mexico.

I love how in Frozen they give importance to all the women who gave voice to Elsa in the different countries, they show their faces and even inviting them to the Oscars! I find it beautiful and inclusive.

¿Qué tal comunidad de hive?

Hoy me siento muy EMOCIONADA porque durante mucho tiempo quise hacer dos cosas: iniciar un blog en Hive (tengo algunos amigos en la comunidad) y participar en el Concurso de Música Vibes, ¿y adivinen qué? ¡Hoy estoy haciendo AMBOS! ¡Estoy feliz y muuuy nerviosa! Voy a empezar presentándome: mi nombre es Michelle, soy una cantante actualmente radicada en Caracas, Venezuela. Quiero agradecer al equipo de Vibes por crear oportunidades y espacios para músicos de todos los niveles y de todo el mundo. Mi país está sufriendo una situación difícil e injusta y este tipo de espacios representan un escape y una luz para quienes vivimos en un entorno complicado.

### ¿Semana de Disney? ¡Un sueño! 😍🎶

Para los que no me conocen (o sea, todos, jajaja) soy una FREAK total de Disney. Los musicales lo son todo para mí, inhalo Disney y exhalo Broadway 😂 Entonces, cuando vi que el tema de esta semana era Disney, tuve que correr a hacerlo. Elegí la canción Into the Unknown de la película Frozen II porque Elsa es uno de mis personajes favoritos: es poderosa, incomprendida y un poco drama queen😅 y además, por la situación que estoy viviendo en mi país, he estado sintiendo una conexión con el significado de la canción, que es sentir que no estoy donde se supone que debo estar ahora. Siento la urgente necesidad de salir, ver nuevos lugares, tal vez vivir en otro lugar por un tiempo y explorar "hacia lo desconocido".

Esta es una gran canción, la cantaré en mi idioma nativo, el español, y tal vez noten que le daré a Elsa mi propio "spice", gestos y energía. Esta canción está interpretada originalmente por Idina Menzel, una de mis modelos a seguir y cantante más admirada. Idina es una inspiración para mí, encarna a los personajes de una manera muy poderosa, la técnica vocal pasa a un segundo plano, toda la interpretación gira en torno al sentimiento. La versión latina está interpretada por Carmen Sarahí, una increíble cantante y actriz de doblaje mexicana.

Me encanta como en Frozen le dan importancia a todas las mujeres que le dieron voz a Elsa en los diferentes países, dan la cara y hasta las invitan a los Oscar! Lo encuentro hermoso e inclusivo.
