Doug W. Stanton joins Jeffrey C. Mosher in the studio for a chat as Doug was criss-crossing Michigan with MBN ally - Susan Wilcox Olson.

They cover his background, the National Writers Series and how it is celebrating a 10th anniversary, sharing a bit of the Michigan and national flavor attendees get when going to sessions in Traverse City.

Then they get into the challenges and lay-of-the-land for how book tours for authors have changed in the past twenty years.

From Doug's perspective In 36 hours, in three major cities, on 8 TV, print, radio and podcast interviews (like MBN's) across commercial and public media, he spoke to about 1 million people about the Traverse City National Writers Series, authors, bookstores, and Traverse City, my hometown. He's been in hundreds of bookstores, done hundreds of interviews on 3 three national book tours, and few people equalled Susan's ability to get the word out. Give this extended interview a listen.

Jeffrey Mosher hit the road, and was on hand at Sparrow Hospital January 15th. Shared here is an interview with Stephen Guertin, M.D. of Sparrow Hospital, along with excerpts from the check presentation.

Spirit of Children presented an incredibly generous amount of money to the Sparrow Foundation for the Sparrow Children’s Center from donations and sales collected last year from Lansing-area Spirit Halloween stores. Spirit of Children officials presented a ceremonial check to Sparrow and discussed the company’s work on behalf of the hospital’s young Patients. Spirit Halloween, the largest Halloween specialty retailer in the country, has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Sparrow since 2007. Through its Spirit of Children program, the company collects cash and merchandise donations from customers and donates the proceeds to child life departments in children’s hospitals throughout the nation. It also traditionally holds a Halloween party for our Pediatric Patients.

Their gift this time around not only exceeded 2018's but topped $100,000.
