  • Dave Heisey: Conflict Resolution Techniques | Michigan Business Beat
Dave Heisey talks about some conflict resolution techniques with Jeffrey Mosher on this segment of the Michigan Business Beat.
So, it’s Sunday night, and you’ve been thinking about your ’to-do’ list for the coming week. Important internal meetings to prep for - check. Time for key projects scheduled into your calendar - check. Two lunch meetings with customers - check. Dealing with 4 conflicts in your office - what???
Dealing with conflict between you and an employee or between two employees, is about the last thing any manager wants to deal with. It’s frequently easier to keep your head down, focused on your own work, and hopefully the situation will take care of itself. I’m sure they will be able to work it out - right?
How you deal with conflict, and whether you choose to deal with it has a significant impact on the culture of your organization. Although it’s not easy, there is a technique that I recommend you use for helping people - employees, bosses, customers, vendors - to overcome these obstacles and move forward effectively. A company that deals effectively with conflict is a company where highly talented and motivated employees want to work.
