Reports say that Americans spent on average 5 hours a day on their mobile devices. With business applications like email, office productivity and other industry specifics apps being used on mobile, it’s no surprise that mobile device management is a concern for many business owners. Kaspersky Lab reported that 52% of those researched do not protect their passwords on their mobile devices. As the need for mobile accessible business apps continues to grow, business owners need to enforce stronger policies for password protection.

Hackers Steal Home Buyer's $400,000 Down Payment

Real Estate professionals, and the FBI, are warning homebuyers of cyber-attacks and email phishing campaigns. Attackers will send emails to homebuyer from what appears to be the title company and the real estate agent asking the homebuyer to wire the down payment to an account. According to the FBI and the Washington Post, in 2016, Americans lost $19 million dollars in real estate fraud transactions. In 2017, the number sky rocketed to $969 million dollars.

Amazon suffers glitches at the start of Prime Day, its biggest shopping day of the year

According to Amazon, there are over 100 million Amazon Prime Members. In some sense, Amazon has gained a cult-like following. Many of those member have a countdown to Prime Day – when Amazon has incredible deals and savings on Amazon devices and countless other products. While Prime Day lasted 36 hours, Amazon had quite the rough start this year. Many consumers reported errors on desktop and mobile devices while trying to access the Amazon website, and even while trying to check out.

But many of us can related to the Office Space scene when the office printer is destroyed by employees with a baseball bat. HP wants to correct this by making a printer that is truly easy to use and can print – specifically photos - from a mobile device.

HackerOne, a California-based company, is taking a different approach to cybersecurity by hiring more than 100,000 ethical hackers to help detect vulnerabilities. Their approach is to focus on “looking in, rather than building barriers to keep them (attackers) out”.

Timehop experienced a security breach that exposed 21 million users’ names and email addresses – some of which also included a phone number. The attacker gained access to Timehop’s cloud back in December 2017.
