January 2, 2024: Michigan State resumes Big Ten play on Thursday by hosting the Penn State Nittany Lions. Penn State is under new leadership after the departure of Micah Shrewsbury to Notre Dame after the season. Mike Rhoades left VCU to take over the program and has had to rely heavily on the transfer portal to construct a roster.

Arguably his best player was on last year's squad, Kanye Clary, who is averaging 18.2 ppg. This team will look and play nothing like last year's 5 out team with an unconventional point guard like Pickett. This team intends to play fast and put a ton of pressure on the ball handlers 94 feet of the court.
