February 3, 2024: Although it might not look like it from the final score, MSU’s 63-54 victory over the Terrapins was a closely fought rock fight. Maryland did exactly what they set out to do - create an ugly grind out game. Unfortunately for them, it wasn’t enough as the Spartans put together an 11-0 run with under 6 to go to put away the turtles.

Malik Hall scored 19 with 7 rebounds and was fantastic guarding Dante Scott this game. He seems to have really started to turn things around even in his shooting as he went 1-2 from behind the arc to climb to 33% on the year. Well over 40% from 3 in Big Ten play. Perhaps most importantly for Michigan State was their performance on the glass holding Maryland to just a 31% offensive rebounding rate.
