James E Jordan Jr is the Executive Director and CEO of the Brandywine Red Clay Alliance based in Unionville, PA. Jim has tremendous experience in the conservation world starting out in the for profit sector working at the National Vulcanized Fibre Corp. NVF eventually turned into a large corporation but it was founded in Yorklyn, DE where Jim grew up. His experience working for NVF helps him transition into the nonprofit world.
In this podcast we only scratch the surface of Jim’s experience and knowledge in the outdoor conservation world. We talk about his upbringing, schooling, first jobs and successes working for NVF. He describes how he helps NVF save money while improving the local streams and river waters as well as the factories air emissions. He discusses working with the local and state governments to keep some of the most beautiful land in Delaware and South East Pennsylvania from being developed.
Jim then uses these experiences to transition into the nonprofit world where he eventually becomes the Executive Director and CEO of the Brandywine Red Clay Alliance or BRC.
