Carina Bruwer is a local marathon swimmer who recently became the first woman and fourth person to swim across Nelson Mandela Bay in PE (21km). 

Bruwer took on this big challenge in support of Muzukidz - an organization which aims to alleviate poverty by providing instrumental tuition to young learners from disadvantaged communities within the Cape Town surrounding areas.

I've not had an easy life, and I think the book is the manifestation of the journey. 

The journey has not been easy but I could never not share the tools that actually led me from captivity to freedom.

If we never share the lessons, we nullify the experience.

Chantelle established her non-profit organisation, New Heritage Foundation in 2013 whilst living in a wendy house. 

The New Heritage Foundation focuses on education. We reconstruct buldings, and educare centres, mostly out in informal settlements. 

You think you don't have anything to give. Why must I give if I have nothing? For me it was something entirely different, "What do I want to leave behind?" and "What is the impact I want to leave one day?"

Less than two years ago, Chantelle started her own imports/exports company called Milli Distributions. They are the sole distributor of the Glory Pad. 

I import and export the first of its kind sanitary pad which is biodegradable, totally organic. It's charcoal, reduces menstrual cramps and eliminates odour while wearing it. It's the very thing women have been waiting for all their lives.
