After the madness of Utrecht, this week on Mid Piece things are a little quieter as I take a much needed week away from actually playing the game, but there's still plenty of One Piece TCG to talk about! We start by catching up on the competitive scene and looking at the results from the latest Regional events in Virginia and Athens, including the winning decks and what those results might tell us about where the meta currently stands. From there, we take a broader look at the current format and the five to seven decks I believe make up the top of the meta. Rather than there being one obvious answer, we discuss why each of these decks is genuinely viable, what they bring to the table and why there's plenty of room to find success with the right choice. Then I go on a bit of a ramble about something arguably even more important than choosing the "best deck", actually becoming a better player. We talk about testing properly, finding and building a strong testing group, surrounding yourself with players who will challenge you, and getting the most out of the time you put into the game. Finally, as always, we wrap things up by answering another great selection of questions sent in by the Mid Piece community.

This week on Mid Piece, we take a deep dive into the current state of Green Mihawk and the problems surrounding what has quickly become a Tier 0 deck in the OP-17 meta. We discuss just how dominant Mihawk has become and look at some of the potential solutions Bandai could explore, including whether paired bans could help bring the format back towards a healthier and more balanced place.

I then recap my week in the hobby, where I took Purple Kaido to locals before continuing my final testing with both Kaido and Mihawk as I try to make that all-important decision ahead of Nationals.
