When life throws massive curveballs your way, you quickly realize you cannot control what happens to you. But you can control how you handle it.

The journey to lower my scores isn't always pretty. I recently played Renditions Grand Slam Experience (shot a 99) and Bowie Golf and Country Club (shot an 88). I want to share the "homework" that is actually moving the needle on my game.

My current focus is on building consistent, repeatable habits. I’ve been using the Konday Swing Trainer three times a week for about 10–15 minutes, using a specific habit-stacking routine that has helped me pick up noticeable swing speed and distance off the tee with my driver.

Tackling The Preserve at Eisenhower this week was a major wake-up call. It's a beautiful, challenging course, but walking away with a 105 made me realize it’s time for some serious reflection if I’m ever going to hit my goal of a 92 average.

We are officially rolling into the summer stretch of the 2026 golf season, and the grind to lower my scoring average down to a consistent 92 by November is in full swing! In this episode, I’m pulling back the curtain on the raw numbers from May and looking at what the data is telling us.

I logged 5 full rounds over the last month, and the theme of the season so far is rock-solid consistency. Here is the quick data snapshot:

➡️ May Scoring Average: 95.4 (across 5 rounds)

➡️ April Scoring Average: 95.5 (across 7 rounds)

➡️ Combined 2-Month Average: 95.5

A 95.5 combined average over the last two months proves the floor of my game is rising but getting down to that 92 target means eliminating the big mistakes.

On this episode, I’m giving you an unvarnished review of my recent round at Walden Country Club in Crofton, Maryland—and I'm bringing the scorecard with me. I carded a 105, and on a tight, unforgiving track like Walden, this round was a masterclass in how quickly things can get away from you when you're battling fatigue.

I break down the layout and conditions and get completely honest about my struggles off the tee. When the driver isn't behaving on a narrow course, you're playing defense on every single hole.

But even on a triple-digit day, there were major bright spots. I’m celebrating a massive breakthrough in a zone that usually strikes fear into amateur players: the sand. I dig into why I'm finally feeling comfortable and confident when hitting out of green-side bunkers, and how that part of my game kept this tough round from spinning even further out of control.

Finally, I'm getting transparent about the physical toll of the game. After months of heavy practice, testing, and logging consistent rounds, the baseline fatigue has caught up, and it absolutely showed up in my swing mechanics. I talk about the importance of listening to your body, knowing when to rest, and why taking a breather is a crucial part of long-term progress.

I'm out at Northwest Golf Course in Silver Spring, Maryland for a wild ride of a round! Northwest is known for its long layout and massive, undulating greens, and it definitely threw a bit of everything at me today.

From throwing a beautiful 6-iron onto the green and executing a clutch sand save to 3 feet, to the inevitable struggles of a fat shot and a tough three-putt. Golf is a game of managing misses, and Northwest definitely tested my course management today!
