Paul will now use a smart tool in dealing with people. Encouragement before correction. He will lay out all the privileges of being a Jewish person AND THEN he will will bring out the deeper truth. The great theme of the letter to the Romans is "The Just Shall Live by Faith." We are justified by our Faith/Trust in Jesus as the only God and that He came to save us by dying on a cross and rose from the dead three days later. When we truly believe that, we are justified, declared innocent of all sin. And let me add, this results in we who are unrighteous (Which is all of us) are now declared righteous because we take on the righteousness of Jesus. Paul will continue that theme in this study.
