Join me as I reflect on what has been an incredibly motivational and inspirational week for me.
I was privileged enough to speak to Scott Ward, a man doing some amazing research and work in the sports field around how we can support athletes beyond their sport careers. It was fascinating to hear his story, the things he has learnt and where we need to go from here. You can listen to the full chat on the More than Balls podcast with Sigi Burger.
I also finished the book 'Can't Hurt Me' by David Goggins. Ex-seal and ultra marathon runner, Goggins talks about how as humans we often limit ourself to comfort and to walk the road most travelled by. Goggins goes against all convention and in this podcast I reflect on some of my biggest learnings from the book and why it inspired me so much.
At the weekend, England Rugby and Bristol Bears prop forward Kyle Sinckler gave an open and honest interview about how he was feelings regarding his omission from the Lions Touring Squad to South Africa in the Summer. On the podcast I share just why and how this inspired me this week and why it is such a groundbreaking sports moment when it comes to mental health and how we view athletes in the public eye.
I really hope you enjoy this Mid Week Remedy and you have a fantastic Mental Health Awareness week!
