U.S. Organic Feed Grade Commodities: Delivered Price (U.S.$/bu)

Organic feed corn contracting volumes lost their four-week momentum during mid-April compared to the previous weeks. Delivered prices averaged $9.51/bu at the conclusion of the two-week period ending April 13, down $0.25/bu from the prior two-week period. Further, organic feed corn lost an average of $0.83/bu year over year.

Organic feed soybeans saw a jump in contracting activity at the end of Q1 and the beginning of Q2, but contracting volumes slowed in mid-April. Delivered prices averaged $18.93/bu for the two-week period ending April 13, just slightly under prices seen last period and mostly even with a year ago.

Organic feed wheat purchasing has dramatically declined since the end of Q1 2019. Delivered prices averaged $10.20/bu for the first two-week period ending March 30. Organic feed wheat contracting volumes did not meet Mercaris’ standards for publication for the second two-week period ending April 13.
