  • 20. Kevin McHugh (Grant Farm)
Keyboardist. Singer. Drummer. Poker player. Dueling piano extraordinaire. Former wearer of the man bun. My roommate. All things that describe Grant Farm keyboardist, Kevin McHugh. In this episode, we hear Kevin's story in music from his teenage bands, to his 10 year college plan and what led to his joining Colorado-based cosmic americana group, Grant Farm. I also spend some brief time at the beginning of the episode reflecting on the first 20 episodes of the podcast, and my recently hacked instagram account. • 19. Cary Morin
With qualities ranging from blues to jazz, country and americana, Cary Morin is perhaps one of the best finger pickers on the circuit today. He has been touring internationally for decades, including performances at Paris Jazz Festival, Winter Park Jazz Festival, Folk Alliance International and the Copenhagen Blues Festival. He's won many prestigious awards including an Independent Music Award for Best Blues CD (Cradle to the Grave), 2018 International Songwriting Competition Honorable Mention, and a 2017 Indigenous Music Award for Best Blues CD (Cradle to the Grave). Also... he has a standing invitation to stay at David Bromberg's place whenever he's in town. We had a great conversation. Do it up! • 17. NPR Named 'Best Living Songwriters' David Dondero
It was an absolute pleasure having David Dondero on the show. He has been putting out records under his own name since the late 90s, and was named one of the "best living songwriters" by NPR's All Songs Considered. In this episode, we discuss David's history and life on the road, as well as Nic and David's shared love of Vic Chesnutt. Oh yeah, I should mention I had a guest host on this episode... Denver singer/songwriter, Nic Clark. If you enjoy the episode, please let others know, subscribe or write a review. • 15. Blues Radio Talk with Kai Turner
My guest, Kai Turner, has been on the airwaves since 1991. During that time, 100's of artists have appeared on the show either via live performances or interviews. With "Strictly Blues" Kai Turner has created a show that has garnered a reputation for being upfront and blunt about the importance of Blues music in today's society. It's also worth mentioning that this interview was done in Kai's basement amongst his never ending, totally bad ass CD collection. • 12. Jenny Shawhan
Jenny has her S&%T together. I mean, she sent over a resume before coming by for the interview. Who does that? Jenny does. An accomplished singer/songwriter, a vocalist with a degree from Belmont in Nashville, lots of experience as a singer in various different bands and growing up in a town nobody has heard of somewhere in Indiana are all things that Jenny boasts proudly in her multi-page memoir. We had a great conversation about all of these things and more, including her journey to becoming a mainstay in the Denver music scene.
