Ubuntu comes from the Zulu language meaning "I am because you are".

It shares the idea that we are all responsible for each other and should give selflessly, not only in abundance because at the end of the day we are all responsible for one another.

African philanthropy is all about giving back and is centred on community. Mide Akerewusi is a fundraiser and Founder of AgentsC, who had a growing curiosity for how Africans approach giving. This idea grew into the Duality of Giving Report, which took a deeper look into Africa's nonprofit sector and approaches to charitable.
