Solas Eco Garden Shop in Portarlington is Ireland’s first eco garden centre.

Developed by local entrepreneurs David Maher and John Carey, their goal is to become a food and recreational destination and to attract like-minded customers and producers from around Ireland.

Listen to David and John outline their vision and hear also from some of the traders from the weekend farmers market including Helen Gee of G’s Gourmet Jams and Laois Taste, Rafal Dusza of The Rusty Copper ,Tracy & Cormac Loonam organic vegetables, artist Mary Butler and Jiab Behan who grows Asian vegetables in Laois.
