Then, “At Our Age, I Have to Ask” gets nostalgic as we debate how old is too old to trick-or-treat and whether we actually miss anything about our twenties. We also catch up on what we’ve been watching and playing, including Beef, Nope, Lanterns, Nathan Fielder, Resident Evil, Super Smash Bros., Roblox, and the new Wolverine game.

Plus, we get into NFL Week 1 reactions, fantasy football trash talk, Adrian’s bachelor party weekend, what feels good and what hurts, and our very questionable attempt at creating the NFL’s next expansion teams.

This week on Midlife Crisis, we’re back to overthinking the internet, sports, pop culture, and what it means to be getting older.

We start with the viral story of the fake 49ers player who somehow convinced people he was actually in the NFL, the bizarre rise of John Pork, and the Good Good x Callaway ad controversy, including how something like that gets approved in the first place and whether brands have become too quick to cut ties when the internet turns on someone.

From there, we get into what we’ve been watching and listening to, including Ted Lasso, Tires, Coyote vs. Acme, Tom Hardy’s secret rap career, GTA 6, and whether Jeff will ever play Call of Duty again.

Then football season officially arrives as we recap our fantasy draft, break down our teams ahead of our Week 1 matchup, and debate the best and worst things you can call another grown man, because apparently “Big Dog” and “Brother” hit very differently than “Buddy” and “Boss.”

Finally, we talk about why every guy friend group needs a punching bag, accidentally hitting “Reply All,” and the strange realization that life feels faster in your 30s, and why making new memories might require being a little more intentional than it used to.

This week, we sit down with Adam Salgado, Chief Experience Officer at Heritage Grocers Group and one of the early leaders in Adrian’s creative career. Adam takes us from growing up in Cuernavaca, Mexico and leaving home for Notre Dame to starting his career at Leo Burnett, managing a massive Kellogg’s media budget in his early 20s, and eventually building a decades-long career in marketing and leadership that included McDonald’s and Heritage Grocers Group.

We get into imposter syndrome, career moves that don’t go according to plan, self awareness, adaptability, hiring, and what good (and bad) bosses can teach you about becoming a better leader. Adam shares his perspective on leadership, the difference between being friendly and being someone’s friend as a manager, and the pressure that comes with climbing higher in an organization.

We also talk about what he’d tell his younger self, asking “Why not me?” when opportunities arise, and finding a mentor, a coach, and a champion along the way. Plus, Notre Dame football, parenting, ChatGPT at the racetrack, and what feeling genuinely fulfilled at 51 looks like.

This week, we’re bouncing between college scandals, getting older, pop culture, sports, and all the questionable decisions that apparently still count as adolescence at 32.

We kick things off with the wild Penn State fraternity cocaine scandal and look back at our own fraternity days before debating ASU’s new content creator degree and whether you can actually teach someone how to become an influencer. Then we get into the claim that your teenage years might last until 32, whether millennials are actually behind in life, and at what point driving an electric car becomes the responsible move.

Plus: 90s candy nostalgia, Ted Lasso, Lanterns, the new X-Men cast, everything you apparently need to watch before Avengers: Doomsday, the best mobile games ever, and our respective fantasy football draft strategies (hint - Adrian has none). In Episode 62, we’re back with our final thoughts on Spider-Man: Brand New Day, including whether it actually lived up to the hype and where we think it belongs in the all-time Spider-Man movie rankings.
