Linda let fear hold her back from experiencing life for so many years. But then she decided to live fearlessly. We chatted about how God has helped her to overcome her fears and trust him. She opened up and shared so many aspects of her story: from overcoming the fear of water to finding freedom after sexual assault. • Qualities That Make a Great Friendship

You probably have an inner circle of close friends, but have you paused to think of what qualities make your dearest friendships work? In this episode, you’ll be encouraged to reflect on those relationships and look for ways to become a better friend as well.

Friends come and go. I’ve had more than one falling out, a change of direction in life (we don’t work together anymore), moving away, fading connection, and different goals in life that have come between relationships. Then there are some that you just pick up where you leave off every time you’re together. Aren’t those precious? And there are others who are part of daily life and you can’t imagine it without them.

  • History and His Story Are in God’s Hands | Chris Staron

What would happen if we made it our goal to be the exception when it comes to negative opinions about Christians? That’s exactly what Chris Staron does. He’s also living out his faith as he studies history for his podcast episodes while trusting God for his future steps.

This week, Chris Staron shared his story of coming to know Christ at the age of 10 and diving into reading the New Testament. He said his faith is what carried him through some challenges in high school and eventually led him to ministering to his fellow classmates in college on a secular campus. He realized that “cultural Christians” had a difficult time with practicing true faith, and he discovered how relationships were the key to being able to share the gospel with those who were searching for something more.

Chris went from being confused by non-believers to having a real heart for them. Going to a secular college and then working in Hollywood taught him that many non-Christians don't really know the gospel. They learn about Christians from TV and the news. He says, “If we can be the exception to their negative opinions of Christians it opens a big door for the gospel.”

    More about Chris:
Chris Staron is the host of the Truce Podcast, a history show that dives deep inside the Christian church. He's also the award-winning filmmaker behind the movies "Bringing up Bobby" and "Between the Walls" and the author of the time travel thrilled "Cradle Robber."

  • Five Creative Ways to Bless Someone Else

Can you imagine how wonderful our world would be if we intentionally looked for creative ways to bless someone else? The ideas in this episode give you a starting place to be deliberate about encouragement.

Even the strongest of people need encouragement! Not too long ago I had a couple of weeks of really wrestling with whether or not the time I pour into creating podcasts every week, writing books, and hosting a Facebook community were really making a difference for anyone. I was bone-weary from it all and asking God if I was on the right track or if I was pursuing something outside of his direction. That’s a legit question to ask.

That struggle also made me aware that there are many others out there who could use a few words of encouragement sometimes. In this episode I share some ways that we can creatively encourage someone else without having to be crafty, just thoughtful.

  • Intentional Faith and Creative Ways to Meet with God | Rosie Williams

Rosie Williams was serving in Christian ministry and working herself to the breaking point while unraveling on the inside. When she promised to spend a minimum of 10 minutes a day for the rest of her life in prayer and Bible study, it changed everything.

What started as the treasure of trusting Christ completely in her early years looked more like trash when dealing with difficult life challenges such as secondary PTSD from her Nam vet husband, job stress, and family members who struggled with issues of faith. Rosie was serving in Christian ministry and working herself to the breaking point while unraveling on the inside. A walk down a very long aisle and a promise she made to God changed everything!

Some listeners might ask this question that Rosie mentions in her book:

“I fully believed that God worked in the lives of others, but I didn’t truly believe that God had a purpose and direction for me.”
