Testosterone for women is everywhere right now. From social media and Facebook groups to conversations between friends, women are hearing that testosterone may be the missing piece for everything from low libido and fatigue to brain fog, muscle loss, and motivation.
But what does the evidence actually tell us?
In this episode of Midlife Revival, Dr. T answers five of the most common questions she hears about testosterone and menopause in her clinical practice.
She breaks down what testosterone actually does in the female body, when testosterone therapy may be helpful, why a “low” testosterone level doesn't automatically mean you need treatment, and what women should know about dosing, monitoring, side effects, and long-term safety.
The five questions Dr. T answers:
Along the way, Dr. T discusses testosterone for low sexual desire, the difference between physiologic and supraphysiologic dosing, topical testosterone vs. injections and pellets, potential side effects, and why she believes treatment should focus on the woman—not simply a lab value.
The takeaway? Testosterone is a legitimate treatment, but that doesn't mean it's the answer for every midlife symptom or the right choice for every woman.
Instead of asking, “Should I be taking testosterone?” Dr. T encourages women to start with a different question:
“What are we trying to treat—and does testosterone make sense for me?”

What if the problem isn’t that you need to try harder?
In this episode, Dr. T talks honestly about the mental load women carry in midlife and the pressure to constantly “optimize” our health. From strength training and protein to supplements, sleep, stress, and hormones, the list of things women are told to do can start to feel like one more impossible standard.
After a 5:15 a.m. workout and walking back into the very real chaos of family life, Dr. T reflects on what so many women are experiencing: work, caregiving, parenting, relationships, changing bodies, and the invisible cognitive load that follows us everywhere.
This episode is a reminder that midlife is not a problem to outsmart. It is a transition to understand, support, and move through with honesty and grace.
In this episode, Dr. T explores:
The takeaway: You do not have to ace midlife. You do not have to perfectly execute every wellness recommendation. Your health matters, but so does the context of your life.
Sometimes the most important thing a clinician can say is: I see you. Let’s figure out what is realistic for you right now.
Midlife is a transition, not a test.

What if the “midlife crisis” isn’t a crisis at all—but an invitation to pay attention?
Recorded live at Revival Women’s Health during the Midlife at a Crossroads event, this episode brings together Dr. Taniqua Miller and burnout and life coach,, Christine Lloyd-Newberry for an honest conversation about the transition so many women experience in midlife.
Yes, our bodies are changing. Sleep may be different. Stress may hit differently. Perimenopause and menopause may bring symptoms we weren’t prepared for. But underneath those changes, many women are also asking deeper questions:
Who am I now? What do I actually want? And what do I want the next chapter of my life to look like?
Together, Dr. Miller and Christine explore the losses women often carry without acknowledging them, the roles and expectations we may finally be ready to release, and the ways our lives can quietly become smaller through years of reasonable “no’s,” deferred desires, and taking care of everyone else.
But midlife can also be an opening.
In this episode, you’ll hear reflections and exercises from the live event designed to help you consider:
And perhaps the most powerful reminder of the evening: you are not meant to disappear as you get older. You have lived, learned, survived, changed—and accumulated wisdom along the way.
Midlife isn’t necessarily about getting back to the woman you used to be.
It may be about discovering the woman you’ve become.

Hormone therapy has transformed the lives of countless women—and for many, it can be one of the most effective treatments for the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. But has the conversation around hormones become too simplistic?
In this episode of Midlife Revival, board-certified OB/GYN and certified menopause practitioner Dr. Taniqua Miller explores why good menopause care is about more than writing a prescription. She shares real patient stories, discusses the growing enthusiasm surrounding hormone therapy, and explains why fatigue, mood changes, brain fog, sleep problems, and low energy deserve a thoughtful, comprehensive evaluation—not just assumptions.
Whether you're considering hormone therapy or you're already taking it, this episode will help you understand where hormones can be life-changing, where they have limitations, and why personalized care matters.
In this episode you'll learn:
Key Takeaway
Hormone therapy is one of the most powerful tools we have for treating menopausal symptoms—but it is only one tool. The best care happens when your clinician looks beyond your hormones to understand your whole health, your life, and the root cause of your symptoms.

Ever wish you could ask a menopause specialist all of your questions?
In this special episode of Midlife Revival, Dr. Taniqua Miller shares a recording from one of her live Ask Me Anything webinars, where women who completed her Menopause Symptom Assessment had the opportunity to ask their most pressing questions about perimenopause, menopause, and hormone therapy.
From unexpected weight gain and rising blood sugar to libido, itching, breast cancer risk, and the role of hormone therapy, this candid conversation tackles the questions so many women are asking—but often don't know where to turn for evidence-based answers.
Dr. Miller explains not only what happens during the menopause transition, but why it happens, helping women better understand the physiologic changes occurring throughout the body and the treatment options available.
In This Episode You'll Learn:
Key Takeaway
Menopause is a whole-body transition—not simply a hormonal event. While hormone therapy can be an incredibly effective tool for many women, the best approach is individualized, evidence-based, and centered around your symptoms, your health history, and your goals.
You don't have to simply "push through" this season. There are options, and you deserve care that helps you thrive—not just survive.

In this episode of Midlife Revival, Dr. Taniqua Miller is joined by registered dietitian and Diabetes Digital co-founder Jessica Jones, MS, RDN, for a refreshing conversation about nutrition during midlife. The Midlife Metabolic Shift: Why Menopause Changes Your Weight, Cholesterol, and Heart Health
Most conversations about menopause focus on hot flashes, hormone therapy, and symptom relief.
But there's another important transition happening beneath the surface—one that affects your metabolism, cholesterol, insulin sensitivity, body composition, and long-term cardiovascular health.
In this episode of Midlife Revival, Dr. Taniqua Miller explores what she calls the midlife metabolic shift and explains why so many women begin noticing weight gain, poor sleep, rising cholesterol levels, and changes in blood sugar—even when they're doing everything "right."
You'll learn why perimenopause is more than a reproductive transition. It's also a cardiometabolic transition that deserves attention long before lab values become abnormal.
In This Episode:
Key Takeaway
If you've been told that your labs are "normal" but you know something feels different in your body, you're not imagining it.
Perimenopause isn't simply about managing symptoms. It's a critical window for understanding and protecting your future cardiometabolic health.

In this deeply personal episode of Midlife Revival, Dr. Taniqua Miller shares the story behind the creation of Revival Women’s Health and why she ultimately walked away from academic medicine to build a new model of care for women in midlife.
After years working inside a traditional healthcare system shaped by volume, rushed visits, insurance limitations, and physician burnout, Dr. Miller realized something profound:
The way we were caring for women — especially women navigating perimenopause and menopause — simply wasn’t working.
In this episode, she opens up about:
Dr. Miller also shares the deeply personal experiences — including caregiving for her mother during cancer treatment — that reinforced her desire to build a practice where women feel truly seen, supported, and held.

Because midlife care should be more than prescriptions and rushed appointments.
It should feel like partnership.
It should feel intentional.
It should feel like coming home.

What started as a simple attempt to fill my son’s prescription turned into weeks of frustration—and a moment that made me pause.
Not just because of the delay.
But because of how it felt to move through a system that offered little guidance, little connection, and no sense of being cared for.
In this episode, I unpack that experience and what it reveals about modern healthcare—and why so many midlife women feel dismissed, rushed, and left to figure it out on their own.
