Midnight Social Distortion

A personal rant about the misuse and appropriation of the word/idea of "woke," and how using it as a tool of 'review' is very sus. That's it. That's the description.

Do the Sacrificial Negro and Magical Negro go hand in hand? In short, yes. But my special guest Brother Ghoulish and I start at that question and explore if Blacks in Horror can truly escape the trope in modern horror and the ways it still echoes in certain characters and films. It's not a deep dive, but a beginners trek.

Working overnights is a b*tch, and having animatronic machines stalking doesn't help matters. My review of Blumhouse's adaptation of the popular video game and media franchise Five Nights at Freddy's.

Angela's still up to her tricks, but not the kind you take home and ravage after a good night of trick or treating. Listen as I discuss my ire for the lackluster closer to the Night of the Demons trilogy and the 2009 remake that shines on its own but not to its namesake.

Trick or Treat, Sucker... Angela isn't done with us yet! In this episode, I break down the 1994 horror sequel that had big shoes to fill, but decided to forge its own wild and hellish path. Was that a great move? Tune in to find out.

This episode is long overdue. Finally, I'm talking about my favorite Halloween Horror film of all time, Night of the Demons! I'm so excited that I had a drink or two during the filming of this episode! Please excuse the mess, but that's what you came for, right?
