Midnights Songs That Fit on Other Albums

Now that we’ve listened to Taylor Swift’s tenth studio album Midnights over the last month and a half we decided to challenge ourselves by trying to place every single Midnights standard, 3AM edition and deluxe version tracks onto one of her other nine albums. We go through her albums in chronological order and speak about the difficulties in finding sounds that could fit on the likes of her debut album or Fearless, the subtle signs Midnights tracks give us to what we may see in Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and the revisiting of Red on the album. We then speak about her pop and alternative albums which seem to have the most similarities to her newest release. Not only does 1989 lend Question…? a sample, but there are vocal effects reminiscent of reputation, romantic themes straight out of Lover, and a poetic nature to the 3AM tracks that prove Midnights to be a successor of these albums that, at the same time, has carved its own individual place in Taylor’s discography.
