God is not indifferent to the evil or the suffering of His creatures—he cares! We should be both comforted and confronted by this reality. We must end our own indifference to those created in the image of God.

Jonah 3&4

Dios no es indiferente a la maldad ni al sufrimiento de sus criaturas: Él se preocupa por ellos. Esto debería reconfortarnos y confrontarnos a la vez. Debemos acabar con nuestra indiferencia hacia aquellos que han sido creados a imagen de Dios.  

La salvación es del Señor. Él es un Padre compasivo que nos escucha, nos disciplina y nos rescata. A veces, como en el caso de Jonás, nos salva de maneras inesperadas.

Salvation belongs to the Lord. He is a compassionate Father who hears us, disciplines us, and rescues us. Sometimes, as in the case of Jonah, he saves us in unexpected ways.

Debemos dejarnos moldear por la compasión que Dios mostró a los ninivitas, a los marineros endurecidos y al profeta obstinado. Sus siervos deben abrazar Su compasión.

Although he is not even named, the real Protagonist works behind the scenes to rescue his people.
It's not that they have good luck; it's that they have a gracious God.
It's not coincidence; it's providence.

El bautismo SEÑALA al menos dos cosas maravillosas. La reconciliación con Dios y una relación duradera con Jesucristo.

Baptism SIGNALS at least two wonderful things. A reconciliation with God and an enduring relationship with Jesus Christ.
