Midwestern State steamrolled their way past Western New Mexico and Sul Ross State at D.L. Ligon Coliseum this past week. Zarria Carter scored 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in an 82-44 win over WNMU and followed that up with a 37-point, 16-rebound effort in an 80-60 triumph over the Lobos on Saturday. Carter was named the LSC Offensive Player of the Week after shooting 82.8 percent (24-of-29) in the two games combined. Carter leads the LSC and ranks eighth in NCAA Division II, scoring 20.9 points per game, and she is grabbing 11.8 rebounds per game, which leads the league and is fifth-most nationally. This week, the Stang Gang is on the road to face the red-hot Rambelles of Angelo State, who have a 10-game winning streak, and then its on to Odessa for a showdown with UT Permian Basin, which is 7-2 in conference play and owns a 6-2 record at home.
