After a long break, Mielke and Honey has returned. We talk about some of the changes that have happened in the last few years, and how the Gospel impacts our daily lives.
It's been a while since we posted. We discuss what's been on our minds during our break.
Church is on our minds. Orders to shelter in place have left a lot of people anxious about not going to church. But what is the church? Beyond the English use of the word, what is the church, and how do we participate when we can't attend a building, service, or congregation?
Tradition under isolation is on our minds. How do we celebrate Holy Week with a shelter-in-place order? It may surprise you to learn this is not a new experience for us. Changing our perspective on worship is the first step to reduce anxiety that we might "miss out" on our traditions.
We have COVID-19 on our minds!
Christian Traditions are on our minds.
Some are hard-line on the traditions of Ash Wednesday and Lent, insisting you cannot be a Christian if you do not follow these traditions. Some are hard-line against them, insisting "Real Christians" would never celebrate these traditions. We talk about our perspective of history and tradition.
Children's Bibles are on our mind.
We want to teach our children about the Bible. 4-year-olds don't do so well with a full translation, so picking a children's Bible to emphasize certain narratives makes sense, but not all children's Bibles are created equally.
