By 37, I thought certain things would already be figured out:
Except life didn't exactly follow the schedule I had in my head. And the weird part is that a lot of that schedule wasn't even really mine.
In this episode, I'm talking about the milestones we're told should happen by a certain age, what it feels like when your life doesn't line up with them, and how people the exact same age can be living completely different chapters.
Because at some point I stopped asking whether my life looked right for my age... and started asking whether it looked right for me.
I'm 37. And I think I'm finally done asking somebody else what time it is.

*This is not therapy, and it's not here to replace professional support when that's needed. It is simply a space to put certain things into words.
I used to have a pretty clear plan for my life.
My career was a huge part of it. I loved the pressure, the responsibility, the next opportunity, and always having another goal to work toward.
Then, my life changed, and suddenly work wasn't filling almost every part of my day anymore.
Now, I'm ready to go back!... The weird part?
I'm not sure I want to go back to exactly the same life.
In the first episode of Season 2, I'm talking about missing a career I still love, learning how to slow down when that definitely didn't come naturally to me, and realizing that the plan I worked so hard for might need a few changes.
Not because the old plan was wrong... I just know myself better now.

How do other people remember us - and what happens when the version they hold no longer matches who we are today?
In the Season 1 finale of Mientras tanto In English, I reflect on identify, personal growth, memory, change, and the past versions of ourselves that continue to exist in other people's stories. A quiet reflection on forgiving who we used to be, learning from it, and recognizing that growth does not erase the past - it changes what we understand when we look back.

Why do we explain ourselves so much, even after we have already been clear?
In this episode of Mientras tanto In English, I reflect on over explaining, feeling misunderstood, needing permission, and the difference between being understood and being agreed with - and whether I am explaining myself to someone else of trying to convince myself.

Some conversations end, but we keep replaying them - what we said, what we missed, and what we wish we had said differently.
In this episode of Mientras tanto In English, I reflect on replaying conversations, overthinking, what-ifs, and the feelings that kee bringing us back long after the conversation is over.
A quiet reflection on what changes when we stop looking for another answer and realiza we are no longer asking the same question.

Some relationships don't end with a conversation. They end with silence, distance, and unanswered questions. In this episode, I explore what happens when closure never comes, why silence is information too, and how we can keep moving forward without every answer we hoped for.

Why do some reactions feel so automatic?
Some reactions don't start in the present. They come from ways of moving through life that once felt necessary, and later started to feel normal.
In this episode, I talk about the things I used to call personality (being careful, learned behavior, old patterns, reading too much into tone, over-explaining, not trusting calm) and what shifted when I started asking whether those patters were still healthy for me.

In this episode of Mientras tanto in English, I talk about overthinking, worst-case scenarios, fear, trust, and the way your mind can start preparing for pain before pain has even arrived.
A personal episode about negative thought patterns, emotional overwhelm, and the shift from always expecting the worst to learning how to imagine something better without feeling fake.

At some point, "I'm fine" stopped being enough.
In this episode of Mientras tanto in English, I talk about the moment that phrase stopped feeling honest, and what it meant to realize I needed something more truthful for what was happening inside me.
A personal podcast episode about relationships, overwhelm, old patterns, healing, self-honesty, and learning to name what is happening inside you when "I'm fine" no longer feels honest.

Sometimes advice is not what you need first.
Sometimes what you need are words, for something that feels real before you fully understand it.
In this first episode of Mientras Tanto in English, I'm introducing the space, why it exists, and why this podcast begins here.
