Let's be frank, the Quran gives the reader & listener a magical experience, but it's not magic. If your heart is not open to guidance and acting upon its realities, it will fall deaf upon your ears. This is what happened to a chieftain of the Quraysh, Walid ibn Mughirah, who appreciated the Quran's eloquence but fell short of converting.

Lyrics, nasheeds, and poetry may be found pleasing to us, but nothing should impact us more than the verses of the Quran, where the Muslims find healing. Shaykh Abdullah Waheed shares a moment in which even a specialist of Quranic Exegesis (Tafseer) had to be reminded of the Quran’s unrivaled eloquence and beauty.

We are afraid of being caught in situations that may ruin our reputations and our social standings. A young man in Medina was tempted towards wrongdoing, but he later became unconscious because of his God-consciousness. Because of his immense concern for his Lord watching him, Umar ibn Khattab RA became witness to an incredible, almost miraculous, reward the man was given.

Just like many do today, the Companions also had FOMO, the fear of missing out. Their FOMO was not related to their own desires, but rather their capacity for good deeds. A brave, blind companion asks the Prophet SAW about his reward despite his own disability, giving us hope for the vulnerable of society.
