Weakest; Yet Militant!

On this rock I will build my church!

The forces of hell shall not prevail. He is building His church! Matthew 16:17-19

We are not just a victorious church, but a militant church. You are champions standing up for Christ.

The forces of hell shall not have victory over you!

But you need a greater revelation of who Jesus is, for we are called to bind and loose, we are called to walk in power, we are called to know the seat of authority we sit in, with a kingdom mindset!

Jesus said in John 14 “Let not your hearts be troubled.”

On the cross He took on all the forces of darkness and stripped them of all power.

What looked like His weakest moment, was His most militant act!

• Jesus was going back to the Father through the death on the cross.

• On the cross He defeated every demon, stripped them of all power.

• He took all authority while He hung there looking defeated!

• While He hung there looking defeated, He was ruling and rebuilding us!

• While it looked His weakest moment all of heaven was backing Him Up!

• He was going to the cross but ministering to us! Hardest trial yet still ministering!

“Let not your hearts be troubled”, that was just a few days before the crucifixion.

While things may look like our weakest moments, actually we have been qualified by the Father to be Partakers; to have superiority, to have dominance and excellence, over the power of darkness! Colossians 1

Your greatest days are ahead! The plowman shall overtake the reaper.

The glory of the latter house shall be greater than the former!

John 14:1-6

Zechariah which means “Yahweh Remembers” was a prophet called by God to inspire the returned Jews to complete the reconstructing of the temple.

Just as the rebuilding of the temple was not by military might or human power, but by the Holy Spirit, so will our lives be!

God is rebuilding our homes!

God Remembers; Yahweh Remembers!

He remembers that we are but dust. Psalm 103:14 and His mercy to us is from everlasting to everlasting. Psalm 103:17

God remembers and is faithful to His promises.

Not that He forgot, for the mind of God is infinite and all knowing!

His knowledge is perfect and He sees the hidden things, for nothing in all creation is hidden from His sight!

God remembers, describes His faithful nature and perfect timing.

When God remembers doesn’t mean God forgets, but in His all-knowing perfect timing He will move, and the mountain shall become a level plain.

One is an ordained office, the other is a gift all believers can grow in.

The purpose of the gift of prophecy/giving a prophetic word is to bring people closer to the Father.

1 Cor. 14:1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy.

1 Cor. 14:3 But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, encouragement and comfort.

1 Cor. 14:4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.

1 Cor. 14:5 I wish you all would speak with tongues, but even more that you prophesy…

1 Cor. 14:31 For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged.

Acts 2:17 & 18 … and they shall prophesy.

We are all called to prophesy, but we are not all called to be prophets.

(15) Different Spiritual gifts: Romans 12:3-8 and 1 Corinthians 12:7 & 8

Office of a Prophet: Eph. 4:11 & 12, & 1 Cor. 12:28

Purpose for the office of a prophet: to equip, tell of things to come, warn of danger, correct

How to tell if someone is a true prophet

1. Acknowledged as a prophet by church leadership

2. Have high levels of authority & great humility

3. Speak about things that will come to pass

4. Predictions come to pass

5. Word aligns with the Word of God

6. Consistent Christlike character in their lives

7. Message glorifies God not themselves

8. Warn people of sin and judgment

9. Strong voice for justice/righteousness

10. Quick, accurate judgments

11. Great discernment

12. Don’t want public attention

(3) Levels of operation in the prophetic gifting:

Ministering in the prophetic out of someone else’s anointing.

Saul did this when he was in the company of prophets. 1 Samuel 19:20-24

If you are under a prophet, and you honor that prophet, you are going to prophesy under their anointing.. Saul was not a prophet, but under the influence of the prophet Samuel he prophesied correctly.

Ministering under the gift of prophecy

All believers are called to do this. 1 Cor. 14:1-12
