A couple celebrating their 57th wedding anniversary have had to be rescued after their car drove off a dock and into the water as they attempted to board a ferry in Tasmania.
A female employee of the Bruny Island ferry company dived into the water and smashed windows to free the pair from the submerged car, police said.
Police thanked those involved for their quick actions to save the couple. The ferry operator has announced a reduced service while an investigation proceeds.
