For three years, a NSW government department fought to keep this footage an alleged assault of a teenager at a youth detention centre from being released. After a lengthy legal battle, the department was ordered to hand the footage over to the ABC.
The officer involved in the incident continued to work at the centre, prompting calls for an inquiry into this, and other more recent incidents, where excessive force was allegedly used.
