Canadian police have charged a suspect with murder over a car ramming attack at a Filipino heritage festival in the city of Vancouver that killed 11 people.
The Vancouver Police Department said the youngest person among the 11 victims was aged just five, while the oldest was 65, and more than two dozen others were injured.
At the time, the local Filipino community was celebrating "Lapu Lapu Day", in recognition of a Philippines national hero.
The incident came less than two days before the Canadian election, but police were quick to rule out terrorism as the motivation.
The ABC's Carrington Clarke reports from Ottawa.
