Linda Zeng, Senior Analyst for Power & Renewables at BMI, says India’s goal of reaching 500 gigawatts of clean energy goal by 2030 is “very ambitious” and likely out of reach without major reforms. She points to grid constraints, execution delays, and policy hurdles as key obstacles. While the country is also expanding coal and exploring nuclear options, she says clean coal tech and carbon capture remain economically unviable.
