As cocoa prices hit record highs, even seasonal icons like Lindt’s gold bunny are under pressure. With more than 150 million sold annually, the foil-wrapped rabbit is a key product in Lindt’s Easter lineup, but maintaining its profitability is becoming harder.
Lindt & Sprüngli CEO Adalbert Lechner spoke to CNBC about how the 180-year-old chocolate maker is responding to global supply chain disruptions, cost increases, and shifting consumer expectations, while still investing in innovation and product development.
“We enchant the world with chocolate,” Lechner told CNBC. “And to enchant means that you do a bit more than satisfy the needs of consumers.”
