The world’s appetite for AI is driving a surge in demand for power to feed data centers around the world. Energy consumption is expected to ‘almost double’ to 945 terawatt-hours by 2030.
➡️ To help maintain data centers’ energy needs, cooling technology and AI advancements are being used to improve operational efficiency.
➡️ “We are working on building purpose-driven chips that help reduce power requirements,” said Amazon Web Services Vice President Uwem Ukpong as AI, especially generative AI, is consuming a lot of power.
