On the first day after the ceasefire between Iran and Israel, a CGTN stringer visited the streets of Tehran and recorded a day of calm after the war. The stringer noted that while Tehran's streets were quieter than usual, traces of the conflict remained as posters of civilians killed in the war were seen across the city. More than 600 lives were lost nationwide. At a local market, people were slowly returning to their daily routines. Many felt relieved, but a sense of unease lingered. A resident said, "Everything's almost normal now. Hopefully, it stays this way, and there'll be no more war." Now, the city is trying to heal, balancing hope with the trauma left by the war.

At Guangxi Chongzuo White-Headed Langur National Nature Reserve, researchers scour the mountains daily for monkey droppings, an important resource in protecting this endangered species.

According to researchers, analyzing fecal samples reveals the gut microbiome composition across langur groups, which directly monitors the population and health. When findings indicate disrupted diets or elevated stress hormones, the reserve takes action: establishing monkey-viewing boundaries, amplifying visitor education, or adjusting habitat management.

Thanks to science-led conservation efforts, the langur population, once critically endangered with just 300 individuals in the 1980s, now thrives with over 1,400 individuals.
