Under the joint witness of the leaders of the two sides, Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and president of China Media Group (CMG), exchanged cooperation documents respectively with Oleg Dobrodeev, CEO of the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK), Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of RT, and Svetlana Balanova, CEO of Russia's National Media Group.

Shen also exchanged cooperation documents with Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova on behalf of the China Film Administration.

Construction of Unit 2 of the Phase I expansion project at China's Huaneng Shidao Bay Nuclear Power Base officially began on Wednesday, marking the project's entry into the full-scale construction phase.

The Phase I expansion will add two new units to the base. Construction of Unit 1 began in July 2024. Unit 2 will feature the domestically developed third-generation nuclear reactor, Hualong-1, with a maximum capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts and an expected annual output of 10 billion kilowatt-hours. In addition to electricity, the base will also provide nuclear-generated heat. The Phase I expansion project is expected to add over 20 million square meters of heating coverage, benefiting 600,000 local residents.
