THE Minnesota shootings suspect wore a fake police uniform and an eerie latex mask before he carried out the alleged killings.

In the early hours of Saturday, suspected gunman Vance Luther Boelter shot and killed Minnesota Rep Melissa Hortman and her husband at their home in Brooklyn Park.

Boetler has now been identified as a former appointee of Governor Tim Walz.

The FBI released images captured on home security footage of Boetler donning the bald-headed mask while disguised as a cop as he knocked on the door of his victims.

He also shot Senator John Hoffman, 60, and his wife Yvette multiple times at their home in Champlin just hours beforehand, leaving them seriously injured.

Hoffman and his wife have both undergone surgery at the Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids and are said to be in a stable condition with officials "cautiously optimistic" of their survival.

Glancing across the polo pitch, Arthur Edwards’ eyes land on the golden ‘D’ hanging around the young woman’s neck.

He approaches the shy young girl and after asking politely she agrees to pose for a photo, an image that would later go down in history.

It was the Sun’s royal photographer’s very first photograph of Lady Diana Spencer, then 19.

But rather than hitting the front page, the iconic portrait spent weeks in a drawer.

“Although I was told by royal equerries that Lady Diana Spencer was Prince Charles’ new girlfriend, I had a hard time believing it,” Arthur says.

“He was 32 at the time and I remember thinking ‘he’s not running around with teenagers.’”

However, six weeks later and by pure coincidence Arthur had their relationship confirmed.
