How old is Dedra? She claims she was raised in an Imperial kind-block from the age of three. That led fans to question her age, because if that were true, she could only be eighteen years old at this point in the story. We don’t know her exact age, but surely when she was three, the Republic was in charge. She was raised in a Republic kinder block until the Empire took over. But she is an Imperial through and through now. She has likely been trained to not even refer to the Republic. And we’re talking about someone who unfortunately would have had a very rough childhood no matter who was in charge. Republic? Empire? It probably didn’t matter much to young Dedra. She’s most likely grateful to the Empire for giving her some sort of a future. Dedra isn’t reciting her Wookieepedia entry for Eedy, she’s having a conversation with a difficult person. What was that TIE? It’s not named in the series, but the StarWars.com episode guides confirm it is a TIE Avenger. That makes sense, because the ship’s exterior design matches the TIE Avenger from Star Wars Legends, which was first created for the TIE Fighter video game. That starfighter was designed to be more capable against Rebel starfighters, being faster, more heavily armed, and equipped with shields, which most TIE fighter models didn’t have. They had a top speed of thirteen hundred kilometers per hour, making them even faster than a TIE Interceptor. But they were significantly more expensive than even the TIE Defender, so the high price tag coupled with the fact that the prototype was stolen might explain why it never went into mass production. #starwars #starwars

What is Sienar? Sienar Fleet Systems was the company that created and manufactured the TIE Fighter line for the Empire. They operated on several planets throughout the galaxy, including Lothal. The StarWars.com databank says this planet is called 73, and that Sienar Fleet Systems owned several numerically catalogued worlds. I still find it interesting that the title card calls the planet itself Sienar, and Luthen refers to it by the same name later in the series. Maybe the general public didn’t know about the numerical designations and just referred to any Sienar-controlled world by that name for simplicity’s sake. #starwars #andor

How did Poe Dameron get off Jakku? This part of the story was told in the novelization for the movie as well as the Poe Dameron comic series and LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens. Like he says in the movie, he was thrown from the crash. He wandered the desert until he was picked up by a scavenger who was friendly to the Resistance. Or at least against the First Order. They made their way to Niima Outpost, and along the way Poe helped fight off some raiders. Rey and Finn had already left in the Millennium Falcon, but the scrapper was grateful for Poe’s help, and got him passage back to the Resistance base. From there he left for Takodana almost immediately. #starwars

Who made Darth Vader’s suit? It was primarily designed and created by a doctor named Cylo. During the Clone Wars he conducted gruesome cybernetic research for the Separatists, which of course Darth Sidious was aware of. Although no humans are seen on screen, Cylo spent what was described as a long night of operations on Darth Vader, replacing his lost limbs and creating armor to help the new Sith Lord breathe. Cylo went on to create several rivals for Darth Vader who attempted to replace him as Palpatine’s apprentice after the Battle of Yavin. They were technologically enhanced and ungifted in the Force, and were all defeated. After his own failure, Cylo attempted a coup against the Emperor, until he was killed by Vader, the man whose life he saved. #starwars
