The Ukrainian Foreign Minister said Monday that U.S. intervention is the only thing Russia is afraid of.

Speaking at a joint news conference with his French counterpart Andrii Sybiha said Russian President Vladimir Putin was "afraid" of U.S. President Donald Trump.

"Putin... understands that only the United States of America can force them to make peace," he said.

Russia unleashed one of its largest aerial assaults on Ukraine in recent months earlier on Monday, as French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot arrived for talks with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The attack killed two people and wounded 15, including a 12-year-old, Zelenskyy said.

Sybiha said it was notable that there had been no attacks on Kyiv the day that U.S. Special Envoy Keith Kellogg visited Kyiv.

"This is another evidence of who Putin is really afraid of," he added.

A drone struck the entrance to a subway station in Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district where people had taken cover.

Videos posted on social media showed the station platform engulfed by smoke, with dozens of people inside.

The cuts followed Harvard's rejection of demands from a federal antisemitism task force. The task force wanted sweeping changes to Harvard's policies on campus protests, admissions, hiring and more. Harvard, with a $53 billion endowment, has self-funded some research but warns it can't cover all losses. The Trump administration denies retaliation, stating the cuts align with its policies.
