Tracking data has captured the moment a small plane crashed shortly after taking off from Southend Airport, sending a fireball into the sky. (13 July)

The aircraft was reportedly a Beech B200 en route to Lelystad in the Netherlands when the incident occurred.

In a statement, Essex Police said: "We were alerted shortly before 4pm to reports of a collision involving one 12-metre plane.”

"We are working with all emergency services at the scene now and that work will be ongoing for several hours. We would please ask the public to avoid this area where possible while this work continues."

Orlando Bloom enjoyed belting out Oasis hits at he attended the band’s Heaton Park show on Saturday night (12 July).

The actor, 48, who recently announced his split from wife Katy Perry, shared a video of himself singing along to brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher in a social media video prior to the gig.

Then while travelling to Manchester he posted another clip of him singing, with the caption: “Road to Oasis. Could not be more f'in excited. It's gonna be karaoke all night.”

He then shared various clips from throughout the concert with fans.

A British diver came face-to-face with a rarely-seen prehistoric shark. Bee Smith planned for two years to find the elusive megamouth shark off the coast of Taiwan.

Impressive footage filmed on 7 June 2024 shows the 23-year-old swimming alongside a five-metre-long female shark in the pitch-black ocean.

Megamouth sharks have only been sighted 279 times worldwide as they dwell in the deep waters during the day and only come to the surface at night following plankton.

Ms Smith said: “From the first moment that I saw each of the megamouths it didn’t seem real.”

Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson was spotted singing along to Sweet Caroline at a nightclub in Capri while on holiday in Italy with his wife Carrie and family.

After stopping for a drink in the island’s Piazzetta, Johnson appeared late at night at Taverna Anema e Core, where he surprised guests by grabbing the microphone and singing.

A disaster relief unit of Spain's military was deployed to the northeastern city of Zaragoza after severe storms caused flooding across the province on Saturday (July 11).

Footage shared by the Military Emergencies Unit, or UME, showed responders draining excess water and installing roadblocks to prevent further flooding near Ribera del Ebro.

“We continue our works of achique, pumping and clearing roads to return normality to the neighbors of the Ribera del Ebro,” it said in a post on social media.

Spanish weather agency AEMET said there was high potential for flash floods in eight provinces, including Huesca, Teruel and Zaragoza, Barcelona, Girona, Lleida and Tarragona, and Castellón.

JD Vance protesters lined the Disneyland resort as the vice president visited on a family holiday amid the California immigration raids.

The protest was held in Anaheim, where the vice president and his wife and children are visiting this weekend.

Chair of the Nebraska Democratic Party Jane Fleming Kleeb shared footage from the protest on X on Saturday (12 July).

She said: “VP Vance is at Disneyland. I'm also here with my family. When I had a brief moment, I made it clear--we support immigrants, we support America. I asked the obvious question, "I thought you hate California?" Since we've all seen and heard the hatred coming from Vance and Trump for California and Disney.”

Five runners have been taken to hospital after the sixth bull run at the San Fermin festival in Pamplona, Spain on Saturday (July 12).

Thousands of spectators lined the route of the annual 850 metre run through the streets of the Spanish old town.

One participant was knocked unconscious by a Jose Escolar bull inside the ring at the end of the event. There were no major incidents during the run itself.
