Ukraine says it has hit 40 Russian military aircraft. The Russian long-range bombers were reportedly destroyed by drones smuggled into the country, claims Ukraine. Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) released video it said showed Russian aircraft in flames at the Belaya airfield in the Irkutsk region bordering Mongolia on June 1. There was no immediate comment by Russia on the claims made by Ukraine.

Railway bridge explosions caused two separate train crashes in Russia, in regions close to the Ukraine border. Russian officials say at least 8 people have died. Initial reports blamed an explosion when a bridge fell on a railway line in the Bryansk region on May 31 as a passenger train passed underneath. In the early hours of June 1, a railway bridge collapsed in the Kursk region as a freight train was crossing it. There was no immediate comment from Ukraine, but Russia appears to suspect sabotage, with authorities blaming "illegal interference" without giving further details.

Residents caught on camera apparent Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian territory. Russia reported drone strikes on the Elma industrial park in Zelenograd, about 50 kilometers from central Moscow.

Local Telegram channels ASTRA and Baza confirmed the incident, stating a fire broke out following the attack. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said preliminary reports indicate no serious damage or injuries.

Separately, reports from local residents and ASTRA suggest that drone strikes, apparently Ukrainian, also targeted the Kronstadt military drone development facility in Dubna, another city in the Moscow region. One of the strikes reportedly hit the Dubna Machine-Building Plant, a key site in Russia’s aviation and missile development.

The Russian Defense claimed 112 Ukrainian drones were intercepted across six regions overnight, but not Moscow. Ukraine has not commented on the reported attacks.

Three people died and at least 15 people were injured in Russian-launched mass air attack on Ukrainian cities overnight. The deadly strike hit Odesa late on May 23, followed by hundreds of drones and missiles launched at Kyiv in the early hours of May 24. Thousands of civilians and prisoners of war (POWs) are still being held in Russian-occupied Ukraine, many in secret torture chambers across basements, schools, and police stations. Survivors of Russian captivity describe horrific abuse, including beatings, electric shocks, and sexual violence.

Torture is reportedly common with Russian captors showing less interest in military intelligence from their captives. Instead, survivors and experts say Ukrainian prisoners face punishment for not accepting Russian rule in the occupied areas.
