  • Cops arrest lorry driver in Perak fatal road accident
    Police have arrested the lorry driver involved in the fatal road accident involving nine Federal Reserve Unit personnel near Teluk Intan, Perak.
    Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Dr Bakri Zainal Abidin said the lorry driver in his 40s, did not sustain any injuries.
    He has been detained under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987.

  • Families mourn loss of nine FRU personnel in Teluk Intan tragedy
    Grief hung heavy in the air as families of the nine Federal Reserve Unit personnel gathered outside the mortuary of Teluk Intan Hospital on Tuesday (May 13).
    Nine members of the FRU were killed, while two others sustained injuries, when a lorry carrying sand collided with an FRU truck transporting 15 personnel on Jalan Chikus-Sungai Lampam at 8.50 am.

    A 32-year-old man, who drove a 4x4 vehicle and knocked over a couple on a motorcycle, has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined RM12,000 by the Kuala Lumpur Magistrate's Court.
    Magistrate Khairunnisak Hassni sentenced K. Darmaraju on Tuesday (May 13) after he pleaded guilty to dangerously driving a Nissan Navara on the North-South Expressway towards the city centre, just before the Duta toll house, at 2.30pm on May 10.
