Most people don't consider this to be an official Best Picture Winner, but in 1929 at the first Academy Awards, it won "Best Picture, Unique and Artistic Production," and so as the completionists that we are, Sarah and I decided to watch it as well.
The film stars George O'Brien, Janet Gaynor, and Margaret Livingston, and was directed by F.W. Murnau.
If you want to try to watch along with us, next episode will be 1929's The Broadway Melody, and if you have anything you'd like us to mention about any of the Best Pictures, email us at [email protected].
