Mike Dell's World

Thanks for listening!

Today I update you on all the stuff going on in Mike Dell's World (my world). I play a song from an artist most of you heard before but didn't know he wrote songs, acted, wrote books and more.

I played "Move and Remember" by Michael McGlone (the GIECO guy!)

I also played "Am I Awake?" By They Might Be Giants

I played another song called "Juliet" by Michael McGlone from his CD "Hero"

Hope all is well with you!

Today's show is going out on all the audio feeds. It's sort of an announcement.

After 18 years of employment with a company, I have become self-employed. It's going to take me a month or so to get ramped up and ready for a full load of business but I've never felt more ready then I do right now. 2 days ago, I didn't think I was ready but the hand of God slapped me up side the head and said " Dummy, you are going the wrong way. Here, go this way"

Anyway, Catch me later!

An update to let you know that my priorities are going to be a bit out of whack for the next few months as I get serious about Geek of the North and a few other projects I have going. I will try to keep the main Mike Dell's World feed updated from time to time but your best bet to keep up with me will be to subscribe to either the Unplugged feed or the Geek of the North podcast. You can also subscribe to the Radio Mike Dell feed and get everything I do.

I plan on walking a lot now that the weather is breaking and I plan on having the recorder with me for unplugged episodes.

Anyway, Hope all is well with you and yours!

We play a song by Chad Hollister which is a cover of "Best Friend's Girlfriend"

Been BUSY BUSY BUSY with lots of stuff.. It's not supposed to be that way in winter around here. I talk about the trip to Novi, MI for my Wife's Work.

NOVI: The name Novi was taken from the township, which was organized in 1832 from Farmington Township. The name was offered by resident Dr. J. C. Emery, at the suggestion of his wife. Residents were reportedly looking for a shorter name than Farmington.

Several popular but historically inaccurate explanations have been given for the origin of the name Novi. One version is that it was named after the 6th tollgate (No. VI) on the Grand River toll road. However, the township was named in 1832 and the toll road was not constructed until the 1850s. A similar claim is made about the township being stop number 6 on the railroad. However, the Holly, Wayne and Monroe Railway (now CSX Transportation) was not constructed through the township until 1870–71, almost 40 years after it was named. A third popular misconception is that Novi was the sixth stagecoach stop outside of Detroit. None of which is really true. I thought it was the interstate Exit :)

Wordpress 3.05 WTF? Why does Wordpress have to update so often..?? Don't worry, Mike Dell's World (www.mikedell.com) is up to date and safe.

I was one of the lucky recipients of a Google Chrome OS - CR 48 Laptop. So far, so good. Even Kathy Likes it! Will have a full review over at GeekoftheNorth.com (audio) and Geeknewscentral.com (text) soon.

Check out @podcaster on Twitter, That is the twitter account for podcastfaq.com. It's a great place to learn about podcasting and how to do it the right way.
